The history of dad-racing
How it all began
Originally founded by myself Nigel Meakin and Peter Smith
It was late in 1998 racing at Wrexham Club
The meeting was cancelled due to bad weather so it was decided that the majority of racers where to descend onto MACC TRACK in Macclesfield Cheshire Where Peter Smith was a member.
Following that day telephone numbers were exchanged and we all arranged to meet again at the next TORC meeting which was to be held at Ashby
At Ashby we talked about supported drivers and the whole team driver issue and in those days even thoe we thought our boys were good enough there was no drives on the table or any chance of us to be invited to join a team so from that dad racing was formed made up of like minded boys who just wanted to race competitively and share there tips and setups.
The original team members were

Andrew Smith
Adam Meakin
James Hart
Martin Archer
Craig Doorbar
Following a seasons racing in 2001 Martin and Craig found other interests and one who decided he was better than the team so he left leaving Andrew and Adam to fly the flag.
After about three years in the summer of 2004 the team was extended to what today is known as Team dad-racing
the new members were
Dan Dixon
Dewi Jones
Dominic Carter
Achievements:
Andrew Smith HPI Junior Champion (Don Valley) 2003
